Battle for the Cowl #3

The comic opens up with Nightwing and the network, gathering up and talking about what to do with the recent turn of events. Nightwing then heads out on his own to
look for answers.

Meanwhile back in the Batcave, the injured Damian heads off with Squire on a mission of their own.

Nightwing reaches Jason Todd’s hideout and two battle. During the fight, we see Nightwing projects Bruce’s last wishes for Jason Todd in which Bruce apologizes for everything that happened to him.

In one area of the cave, we see Tim Drake dressed as Batman, trying to recover from the wounds caused by his last fight with Jason Todd.

Nightwing and Jason Todd continue to exchange blows until Jason set off an explosive designed to bring the whole place down. With Tim Drake helpless and about to be buried beneath the debris of the blast, Damian and Squire came just in time to save him.

The fight between Nightwing and Jason finally reached its end when Jason was pushed to the edge of a bridge. Hanging for his life, Nightwing offered to get him up but Jason let go of his hold and plummeted to the ocean beneath.

In the end, we see Nightwing giving a little speech as he takes on the Cowl and start his reign as the new Batman.

Battle for the Cowl #2

The rivalry between Penguin and Two-Face intensify as they both increase pressure on both sides.

After killing all the Black Mask that surrounded Nightwing and Damian, the Batman with guns, who is now revealed to be Jason Todd fights both of them. This resulted in Nightwing being injured and Damian shot at the right chest. With the arrival of Huntress and Black Canary, Jason Todd flees.

Meanwhile back at Black Mask’s hideout, he recruits two new villains, Jane Doe and Garfield Lynns also known as the Firefly. They will be joined by Adam Bomb in their new mission assigned to them.

Under Gotham City, another individual dressed as Batman who we now know is Tim Drake stumbles upon a batcave built by Jason Todd. He stumbles upon a trap but was saved by Catwoman as he fell.

Back at the Gotham Police station, Black Mask has started his assault on the city with the bombing of the police station. Jane Doe enters Commissioner Gordon’s room, disabling him and killing his partner.

Jason Todd finally comes back to his batcave and upon arriving assaulted both Catwoman and Tim Drake. The two batmen exchanged blows until Tim was impaled by a batarang from behind.

Battle for the Cowl #1

Tim Drake and Squire are chasing three armed gangsters into an abandoned hospital. When the gangsters open fired on them, they ducked for cover and when they emerged, all three gangsters were tied up. Squire found a note on the ground saying “I am Batman”.

Nightwing and Batgirl assembled the “Network” a group of their most trusted allies to help out in the current chaos.

Meanwhile the Black Mask frees a number of Arkham inmates including Poison Ivy and Croc. They were all given a chemical implant so that the Black Mask can easily kill them if ever they didn’t follow him.

The next couple of scenes focuses on Nightwing which shows how distraught he is about the whole situation.

On Crime Alley, Catwoman, while fighting a couple of gangsters saw someone dressed as Batman on the rooftops. This individual dressed as Batman seems to be investigating something inside a dark tunnel.

Finally, while Damian was cruising with the Batmobile, he was attacked by Croc and Nightwing was forced to save him. However his glider was attacked and they both fell into an abandoned building. As the Black Mask surrounded them, another individual dressed as Batman with guns open fired on the gangsters.
