Dark Reign - Fastastic Four #2

The comic starts out with some H.A.M.M.E.R. agents trying to bring into custody Franklin and Valeria, Reed and Sue’s children. With the children resisting, the police just left them a note about shutting down the Fantastic Four.

The rest of the comic focuses on one thing, Reed Richard’s attempt on finding out how he can change their current reality, by finding out how the other parallel universes averted conflicts such as the Civil War and the Skrull Invasion. The computer capable of analyzing these universes told him that among the million of universes, 418 have prevented such conflicts.

One universe that prevented such a catastrophe was Earth 3490, where Captain America, Steve Rogers and Iron Woman, Natasha Stark and romantically involved. In this universe, Reed Richards successfully completed the Super Hero Registration Program and begin the Fifty State Initiative. In Earth 1,789,002,  the initiative program was successful because of a creation of a serum that gave enhance abilities to anyone who wanted them. In Earth 26, Reed Richards created a device to strip all superhumans of their power.

There were some other universes sites in the comic, but the bottomline is, in all the 418 universes, Reed Richards acted alone, and this somehow prevented such a catastrophe.

However, little does Reed know, the other Fantasic Four members are being catapulted to different universes. From the Medieval times where they are the rulers and Captain America is the head of the guards. In this same universe, Iron Man is leading a revolution against them. The comic ends with them being thrown into another universe where they are in the middle of a battle as pirates.
